The Panthers basketball teams have all had a memorable season. The middle school boys finished first place in the Western Division of the Christian School Athletic Conference, earning a bye in the first round of the Conference Tournament, where they placed third.
The middle school Lady Panthers clenched the second seed in the Western Division, and won fourth place in the Conference Tournament on February 4th and 5th.
The JV Boys displayed perseverance and hard work throughout the season, and were repeatedly commended by opposing coaches, players, and fans for their “never-give-up” attitude and their sportsmanship in victory and defeat. We look forward to watching these players as they return to the court next season.
The Varsity Boys placed fourth in their district and came just short of winning a hard fought tie-breaking game that would have sent them to the playoffs. After beginning the season with a long streak of away games, the Panthers had a terrific home-court stand, which they capped off with an exciting Homecoming win at the Patriot Center on February 8th.
Having also won their Homecoming game, the Lady Panthers clenched the 4th place spot in TAPPS District 5, sending them to the playoffs. They competed in the Bi-District round on Saturday, February 16, where they won an exciting one point victory in the final seconds vs. Frisco Legacy. After a great season, the Lady Panthers lost in the Area playoff game to Jesus Chapel in El Paso.
We are proud of all of our teams for their hard work and perseverance this season. Way to go Panthers!
