Mission Statement
East Texas Christian Academy’s mission is to provide outstanding:
Academics with every child achieving their full potential; Character training that embraces the uniqueness of each student; and Excellence in all we do for the glory of God.
School Philosophy
A vital component in the school philosophy is that every student, whatever his ultimate life’s work, needs a thorough knowledge of Christian principles which are taught in God’s Word. This knowledge is obtained through daily Bible study and integration of Christian principles into curriculum and extra-curricular activities. Each staff member and student should evaluate all of life by the principles of Christ as taught in the scriptures.
Though Christian education is a basic right for students and a responsibility of parents, the privilege of a private Christian education is an option for the parents who desire and sacrifice for it. East Texas Christian Academy exists for the purpose of assisting those parents in providing a quality education for their children.
ETCA is dedicated to helping students achieve full potential – intellectual, physical, emotional, social and spiritual development – in a Christian environment and to encouraging the student to fulfill responsibilities to his family and society.
ETCA recognizes that it is not a substitute for either the home or the church, but that it works with the home and the church in building a foundation of spiritual and moral values. This cooperative effort helps our students develop spiritual depth, responsible standards of behavior, a spirit of benevolence, high academic standards, and Christian servant hood.
Vision
Since 1979, East Texas Christian Academy has remained focused and committed to providing a quality education in a Christian environment by caring faculty and staff who have an appreciation for the uniqueness of each student.
ETCA is a fully accredited K-12 private Christian school by the National Christian School Association and Texas Education Agency. Our academic standards are high - focusing on college preparatory work through the implementation of the Core Knowledge Curriculum from Kindergarten through 5th grade and using it as a building block in preparation for our challenging 6th-12th grade curriculum.
We are blessed to be served by a Board of Directors consisting of men and women from the Tyler area who give of their time and resources to insure continued growth in our programs and the achievement of not only high academic standards but also the commitment to providing a nurturing Christian environment for our students and families. |
