Qualifications:  Prefer master’s degree or higher, school counseling and/or administrative certification; five-plus years experience in school counseling and/or administration; member of the Church of Christ

 Job Description

Includes, but is not limited to the following:

 
  • Works competently throughout the school to fulfill both Assistant Principal and Counselor duties
  • Enforces rules, policies, and procedures (including supervision and discipline) as codified in the Parent and Student Handbook
  • Coordinates and supervises student activities as assigned, including commencement exercises and senior honors and awards programs
  • Assists the Admissions Director in gathering and interpreting information, interviewing, and other tasks relative to the consideration of new students
  • Plans, coordinates, supervises, administers PSAT, Stanford, other types of standardized tests
  • Creates master schedule; works with students to resolve scheduling issues
  • Conferences with students and parents, arranges teacher conferences as necessary relative to grades, student performance, and student success
  • Assists students and families in goal-setting, including academic scheduling, credit by exam, dual credit, early admissions and summer school programs, transcripts, college admissions, scholarships, and more
  • Disseminates information as necessary to students, teachers and staff, and other ETCA stakeholders, as well as the Tyler and East Texas communities, and beyond
  • Performs additional duties as assigned
