Varsity and Middle School Coach - Denise Custer
In volleyball, our middle school Lady Panthers begin learning the foundation of the sport. They will learn the many aspects of volleyball including bump, set, spike, court rotation, serve receive, and service. The focus of this age group is to establish correct technique and form which serves as the foundation to build upon in their varsity career. Middle school competes at the district level which continues into the high school level where our varsity teams can compete up to the state level through TAPPS.
In girl's athletics, the goal is to stress upon our athletes the importance of giving 110 % in all we do. This philosophy is backed by 1 Corinthians 10:31. It is the responsibility of ETCA coaches to find the talents God has given each girl and mesh them with others to be the most competitive team possible on the court. We believe all the players have been placed on the team by God and have a valuable gift to offer. Coaching each individual girl to use her physical strengths for the benefit of the team leads the girls to realize how our talents are given to us by God in order to work together in daily service to Him. This is taught through hard work, dedication, and perseverance. We strive to teach our athletes to push through the hard times or frustration on the field/court, which in turn, is often life. Each girl is required to sign a contract stating they will keep God first, encourage the team, give 110%, and make all necessary practices.
