Middle School and JV Coach - Shannon Cabiran
Lady Panthers begin their basketball career learning the foundation for basketball. They will learn the many aspects of basketball including dribbling, passing, shooting, offense, and defense. The focus of the middle school age group is to establish correct technique and form which serves as the foundation to build upon in their varsity careers. Lady Panthers compete in district starting in middle school and have the chance to compete up to the state level in varsity sports.
In girl's athletics, the goal is to stress upon our athletes the importance of giving 110 % in all we do. This philosophy is backed by 1 Corinthians 10:31. It is the responsibility of ETCA coaches to find the talents God has given each girl and mesh them with others to be the most competitive team possible on the court. We believe all the players have been placed on the team by God and have a valuable gift to offer. Coaching each individual girl to use her physical strengths for the benefit of the team leads the girls to realize how our talents are given to us by God in order to work together in daily service to Him. God has called us to do everything to the best of our abilities to bring honor to Him. This is taught through hard work, dedication, and perseverance. We strive to teach our athletes to push through the hard times or frustration on the field/court, which in turn, is often life. Each girl is required to sign a contract stating they will keep God first, encourage the team, give 110%, and make all necessary practices.
