East Texas Christian Academy is a private, Christian school that offers a quality education in a loving, supportive environment for students 3 years of age through grade 12.
History
ETCA was chartered in the fall of 1979 and was a combined effort of the Tyler Churches of Christ. Preschool was added in 1980 and ETCA was accredited by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) in 1984. Accreditation was maintained through TEA until an umbrella association of the TEA, Texas Private School Accreditation Commission (TEPSAC), was formed to oversee private school accreditation. Under TEPSAC, ETCA is a member of the National Christian School Association (NCSA), and has been accredited through them since 1990. ETCA continued to add grades through 8th grade by 1993 and High School began in 1994. ETCA recognized its first graduates in May 1998 and purchased the Roy Road property later that year. The gymnasium was completed in April 2009, and in August 2010, ETCA opened its brand new campus for Pre-kindergarten through 12th grade at the Roy Road property.

Accreditation
East Texas Christian Academy is accredited by the Texas Education Association (TEA) and the National Christian School Association (NCSA).

ETCA has an enrollment of 284 students in Pre-K through 12th grade with 42 faculty and staff members.
Location
ETCA is located on 20 acres off of Roy Road between Paluxy Drive and Rhones Quarter Road.

Facilities
Our 39,550 square foot school contains 25 classrooms, which includes two computer labs, a 7,000 plus volume library and a fine arts building. Two playgrounds are located on the campus, one for elementary and one for preschool. The gymnasium contains a full court basketball and volleyball floor, and our high school regulation baseball field is located at the north end of our property next to an in progress soccer field.
