ETCA is a fully accredited K-12 private Christian school, by the National Christian School Association and Texas Education Agency. Our academic standards are high - focusing on college preparatory work through the implementation of the Core Knowledge Curriculum from Kindergarten through 8th grade and using it as a building block in preparation for our challenging 9th-12th grade curriculum. We are blessed to be served by a Board of Directors consisting of men and women from the Tyler area who give of their time and resources to insure continued growth in our programs and the achievement of not only high academic standards but also the commitment to providing a nurturing Christian environment for our students and families. We encourage you to call or schedule a visit to our campus so we can share with you the exciting vision for our future and let you experience private Christian education at its finest. Thank you for your interest! Accreditation In 1985, ETCA became one of the first private schools in the east Texas area to be accredited by the Texas Education Agency. Accreditation was maintained through TEA until the state of Texas changed its private school accreditation policy. An umbrella association of the TEA was formed to oversee private school accreditation as the state would no longer be directly part of the process. Since that time, all private school accrediting entities in Texas are required to be a member of the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission (TEPSAC) in order to be recognized as accredited by the state. There are approximately twelve private school accrediting agencies that are recognized by TEPSAC. ETCA is a member of the National Christian Schools Association (NCSA), which was one of the first organizations to be formed when TEPSAC was created. It is composed of over 100 Church of Christ affiliated schools and was modeled after existing accreditation agencies. The standards are thorough, rigorous, and demanding. ETCA has been accredited through the NCSA since 1990. |
